Jessica’s Bridals | Point Clear, AL

03.13.10

We just finished shooting Jessica & Mark’s wedding in beautiful Fairhope/Point Clear, AL, and OH MY GOSH was it a perfect day for a wedding! You’ll see pictures from the wedding soon enough, but until then here are Jessica’s beautiful bridals taken a couple of weeks ago along the bay in Point Clear.

Jessica, you look absolutely stunning.

Dandelions

03.12.10

I’m picky about the desktop background on my computer. I like something visually interesting, yet simple and clean. I don’t want my background to distract from all the things my computer has going on. I want it to be what it is — a background. But I also like variety. I don’t like having the same background for too terribly long. But backgrounds that meet my (ridiculous) standards are hard to find, so I wind up switching between the same few backgrounds over and over.

I say all of that to say that I’ve thought for a long time about starting a monthly desktop background post. I’ll take the kind of picture that I know I like on my computer’s desktop, and I’ll post it for any of the rest of you who happen to be as anal as me about your desktop. Today, I’m finally starting it. Each month, I hope to have a fresh, new, clean, simple desktop background for you. I hope that at least one other person out there will appreciate my desktop style. If not, I’m at least providing for my own desktop needs, right? Time not wasted.

The Green Family

03.12.10

It was supposed to stop raining and clear up by lunchtime.  I don’t know why I even check weather forecasts anymore.  Because as it turns out, it was cloudy, sprinkling, and FREEZING for this family session with the Greens.  Can you tell from the pictures?  No, not really.  They just look like a happy family having a good time at the park.  Addison was particularly interested in the fountain.  And in throwing pennies in it.

And even after that she didn’t slow down once. Her spirits (or energy) were not even slightly affected by the cold, wet weather. That’s what makes a session with an almost-2-year-old so much fun!

Did I mention that Addison blew us a kiss as we were leaving? She did. I’m pretty sure she loves us.

Laura+Rick – Pensacola, FL, Engagement Photos

02.19.10

I don’t think Laura and Rick ever stop laughing. Or looking at each other. Laura’s love of historic Pensacola led us to Historic Pensacola Village for their engagement shoot, and she entertained us with stories of scandal & romance from centuries ago as we walked around.

Jake almost always joins me to assist on shoots, but this time he strapped a camera on as well. The shot below on the right is one of his images…I’m pretty impressed!

Another one of Jake’s shots below on the right…

The image below on the left is yet again from Jake’s camera (maybe I should pay this guy…) ;-)

This next pictures is one of my absolute favorites from the day. I love the lamppost (just for you Laura) and the sweet contentment on Laura’s face. And…you guessed it…Jake gets the credit for this one.

Such a fun day with two wonderful people…I can’t wait for their wedding this Spring!

Snowy Portraits :-)

02.12.10

We don’t get snow much ’round these parts. Everyone I know can tell you all about the “blizzard of ‘93″ but other than a few unusually heavy and whitish looking rain drops every couple of winters, we haven’t really seen any snow since then. Until today. It was gorgeous! I know it doesn’t even compare to what people further up the east coast have been getting, but for us, it was a winter wonderland. Seeing as how I don’t get the opportunity all that often, I really wanted to jump on the chance to do a snowy portrait session. Enter Sarah. She got all prettied up and braved the cold and wet just so I could have a little fun (I always forget that snow is wet…it just looks so pretty and powdery). I LOVE these pictures, too. I think it’s because it’s a scene that I don’t get very often–if ever–and it just seems so fairy tale like. I love it! Thanks, Sarah (and Brook & Jeremy for letting us use your house…again)!

P.S. – WE (as in, Jake and I) actually got to experience the beautiful snow last December in New Orleans. So while Flomaton, AL hasn’t seen snow in umpteen years, we actually did get to enjoy it just last year. We’re just lucky, I guess.

Jake

01.23.10

Bless his heart. He HATES when I take pictures of him. Hates it. But he still lets me because I beg him. And I cook for him. And he loves me. :-) And this time I begged a whole lot, and convinced him to let me post a few of the pictures I took. I think he’s dang good-looking…but that’s just me. :-) I know a few of you in particular that are going to make fun of him for this *cough, cough,Robert, cough, cough*. Just go easy on him. He had no idea he’d end up in front of the camera so much when he married me.

And just for fun…

Premiumcards.net = quality

01.13.10

So, I’m sure by now you’ve noticed the new look on the website. Logo design props go to Zach Williams. If you’re interested in having some graphic design work done, I totally recommend him. Email me and I’ll put you in touch with him.

With the new and improved look, I decided to order some new and improved business cards. I did a lot of searching around online for good quality cards before landing on premiumcards.net. I had read a ton of good reviews, I liked what I saw on their site, I was really impressed with the sample pack they sent me, so I decided to place my order. I placed the order last Tuesday night (Jan. 5th), and I received my finished cards on Monday (Jan.11). Less than a week to process a custom designed business card, print it, pack it, and ship it. That’s amazing.

So Monday…I get the package, I open it, and I’m blown away. Check out this coolness:

A little hand modeling by Jake:

So while I was getting that last shot, I brought Sam outside with me. Because he LOVES to go outside. He has a vocabulary that consists of the following words: outside, treat, ride, potty, and NO. He’s not the brightest little chihuahua, but without a doubt, he knows what those words mean. I digress… Anyway, he was a little curious about what the heck I was doing, and I ended up with this picture. It makes me smile. :-)
