RSS feed

This is just to let you know that my RSS feed address changed about 4 posts back, and I never notified you. Sorry about that. I wasn’t intentionally trying to hide from you RSS-subscribers. It was a small change in the feed address, and it just slipped past my notice. Until today when I checked my own RSS reader and realized the most recent post showing was of Wyatt & Mason. Oops.

For those of you who just come directly to my site to read the blogs, this means absolutely nothing to you. But for those of you who subscribe via an RSS reader (which I definitely recommend…I use this one), you’ll need to resubscribe to my new feed. Just click on the RSS icon at the top right under the header (the little signal-ish looking thing)

If you’re totally new to this, I recommend either downloading an RSS reader application (like NetNewsWire…which I think might be for Mac only) or signing up for google reader. Then you can come back to my site and subscribe using the button at the top of the page. That way, my posts will come directly to your reader as soon as I publish them. No more checking the site over and over again to see that this lazy bum hasn’t posted anything in days…you can just be automatically notified when I finally do post again. Nice.

That’ll be all for today’s technology lesson. :-)

Melissa+Willy {wedding}

Melissa and Willy were married on August 8, 2009, at the Cricket Club here in New Orleans (a really cool place, by the way). I met up with Melissa and the girls at the Doubletree hotel downtown where they were getting ready (after battling through masses of drunk women AND men in red dresses…what a city this is we live in, eh? :-) ).

Then it was on to the Cricket Club for the ceremony and reception. I love this picture of Melissa’s grandmother. She seems so serene.

Willy’s family…

Melissa had already scouted out the location where she wanted to take their portraits–an old church building across the street from the Cricket Club. I LOVE the stone walls.

The reception started with a slideshow during their first dance, and during the father/daughter, mother/son dance. So sweet.

This could be my favorite picture of all of them. Those are Willy’s arms squeezing the life out of his best man. I love it.

Aaaaaannnnd THEY’RE MARRIED!!! Yay!!! :-) Congratulations to two amazing people! I’m so glad I’ve had the opportunity to get to know you guys!

The honorable staff of Grace BC

Many of you know that Jake and I serve on staff at Grace Baptist Church here in New Orleans. Jake’s the Youth Minister, and I’m the Music Minister. Recently we’ve acquired another staff member, and we decided that such an occasion merited taking “for real” staff pictures. And we totally didn’t take these pictures in the alley behind the church before staff meeting without giving anyone any “we’re taking pictures today” warning. Promise. ;-)

I give you the always-serious, fun-hating, straight-laced staff of Grace…

So, I obviously am not very good at “silly on demand.” I do silly pretty well, but in a more I-can’t-help-that-I’m-this-ridiculous kind of way…not so much when someone says, “okay, Diana, be silly.” *sigh*

If you live in New Orleans, we’d love to have you come visit us one Sunday. Or even if you don’t live in New Orleans (although your commute might be a tad longer). As you can see, we like to keep it real at Grace. ;-)

Signed, Sealed, Delivered

You know you’re singing it in your head right now. Don’t even lie. Melissa and Willy (and their attendants) danced down the aisle to this song at the end of the wedding. So fun!

You’ll be seeing more pictures from this wedding in the next few weeks, but I wanted to go ahead and share this fun little series with you. Groomsman number one (in the middle) was cracking me up. :-)

Melissa {bridals}

Last night we had the opportunity shoot Melissa & Willy’s wedding at The Cricket Club here in New Orleans. The Cricket Club is an awesome venue. It used to be a part of the Eiffel Tower. Cool, huh? Obviously I don’t have their wedding pictures ready to share yet, but I do have my favorites from Melissa’s bridal session. In fact I’ve had them ready for a month now and have been DYING to share them. There’s only one word to describe these pictures…G-L-A-M-O-U-R-O-U-S. (Thanks, Fergie.)

Ahhh….I just can’t get over how fabulous she looks! The wedding should be blogged in the next couple of weeks, so keep checking back. :-)
