Ericka+Brandon {Destination Wedding, Cozumel}
Alright, already. You all know that I’ve been back from the cruise for a week and a half now. Most of you also know that the reason I went on the cruise was to photograph Ericka+Brandon’s wedding in Cozumel, Mexico. (I just suffered through the rest of the week. *wink*) I’ve shared a couple of cruise pictures, so now it’s time for the wedding pictures. Can I just say that I think this is the way to go? Small and simple and SOOOOO beautiful. No regrets here–I love the way Jake and I were married–but if I had to advise a newly-engaged couple, I’d definitely suggest something like this. The wedding was coordinated by Fiona Lomax, and took place at the beautiful Playa Uvas Beach Club.

We had time to take a few pictures before the ceremony. Nicholas wasn’t too excited about taking pictures, but he didn’t pout for long.

Then we took a few of the bride and groom…

Then it was time for the ceremony. Nicholas walked his mom and Brandon down the aisle. So cute!

The wind was blowing pretty consistently while we were out there, and a few minutes into the ceremony, one of the poles fell over right into Brandon’s head!

After the ceremony, I was able to get a few more pictures of Nicholas in his adorable outfit. It took some coaxing, mind you, but it was totally worth it. Isn’t he handsome?!

….and then he found something else he’d rather do. :-)

Afterwards, I grabbed the bride and groom for a few more pictures together. I can’t get over how gorgeous it was out there.

Sunrise Over the Gulf
The first morning we were on the ship, Jake and I got up early to watch the sun rise. Let me tell you–you have never seen a more beautiful sunrise until you’ve watched it rise up over nothing but water for as far as the eye can see. It was incredible. I took a couple of pictures of it (which don’t even begin to do it justice, by the way), and one of them landed as my current desktop background. I love it so much that I decided to share it with you. There are two links underneath the picture to download it if you want. Let me know what you think…if this goes over well, I may start posting desktop wallpapers more often.

I lied.
Ummmm…. I guess you’ve figured out by now that that whole I’m-gonna-blog-and-post-pictures-while-we’re-gone thing didn’t so much happen. Turns out you had to pay for internet access minute by minute, and being that we’re really cheap and all, I figured the blogs could wait. It did about drive us crazy not having access to our email, though.
To avoid too much redundancy, I’m going to post the blogs with stories and pictures from the cruise over at jakeanddiana.com (which we use more for friends and family so as not to bore any of you with the details of our mundane life :-) ). I’ll be posting pictures from Ericka+Brandon’s Cozumel wedding (so beautiful!) here, though, in the next few days. But for now, here are a couple from Monday when we shipped out of New Orleans.
Can I just say that trying to hold out a DSLR with a zoom lens attached to take a picture of yourself is MUCH more difficult than doing the same thing with a regular point & shoot camera? I guess I’ve never actually tried to do it before this trip, but trust me, it takes some fancy finger work and a moderate amount of arm strength.

And we’re off!
We’re leaving on a cruise today (yay!!!), so I won’t be available via phone for the next week (found out that it’ll cost me $2.49/min. to use my cell….ouch!). I will be checking email though, and hopefully posting some blogs (with pictures, of course). I’ll post some here, and some on Jake and I’s personal blog—jakeanddiana.com—so be sure to check both. For now, I need to take a shower and finish packing. Then…*sniffle, sniffle*…I have to take Sam to our friend who’ll be keeping him for the week. :-( I’m gonna miss this little guy!
