Just so you know…
I haven’t dropped off the face of the earth. :-) I’m just trying to back off a little as I get further along into this pregnancy. This does NOT mean I’m quitting altogether, so if you’d like to schedule a Senior portrait session or Family session or anything else, PLEASE feel free to email me. We’ll definitely set something up. I am, however, taking a break from weddings until January. But portrait sessions of any kind are still welcome. :-) I’ll try to keep the blog updated semi-regularly just so it doesn’t collect dust. If you’re interested in keeping up with my life and how the pregnancy is going, you can hop on over to our personal blog, jakeanddiana.com. If not, just hang out around here…I promise not to stop blogging entirely. :-)
Love,

Bell/Purvis Family | Pensacola Beach, FL Family Photographer
Marisa emailed me a couple of months ago and said she wanted to give her mother a family photo session for Mother’s Day.
Let me just stop right there and say…that’s a REALLY great idea. I’m sure lots of you mothers out there could testify that updated family photos are something you’d love to have but just never get around to doing. Marisa took it upon herself to make it happen.
So anyway, I actually went to middle/high school with Marisa and her brother Derek and haven’t seen a whole lot of them since I was in, oh, 10th grade? Funny how life circles around. It was so much fun to see them both again, and the weather at the beach couldn’t have been more wonderful (okay, so it could have been a little cooler for this rapidly expanding pregnant photographer, but still…). There was no oil in sight (yet), and the sand and water were still their usual gorgeous selves. Be sure to scroll to the last pictures in this post…they get so much prettier as the sun goes down…at least I think so. :-)

Eddie wasn’t too keen on the idea of having to take pictures. Most guys aren’t to be honest. The look on his face in the picture on the right cracks me up. :-)

I love this one…

McMath Family | Andalusia, AL Family Photography
I met the McMath’s out on their family’s land for these photos. Jeremy has been coming out here since he was a little boy, and now he and his wife live here and have a little boy of their own. Things like that make me smile. :-)

30th Birthday Party
This is a little more of a personal post, I suppose, but still about and involving my photography. :-) A good friend of mine, Brook, turned 30 back in April (yes, I’m a bit delayed in posting this), and her husband planned an elaborate suprise birthday party for her. I mean, he went all out transforming their backyard into an elegant spring evening party, complete with quite the spread of food.

Actually, while Jeremy (the husband) may have been the mastermind behind it all, he in no way got it all done by himself. Brook’s Aunt, Sister, and Sister-in-law (and unpictured mothers, cousins, and friends) deserve plenty of credit for putting the beautiful evening together.

After the sun went down, the deck became a dancefloor, Dad became a DJ, and LOTS of fun was had by all…including those of us who just watched. :-)

And here’s the lovely birthday girl with her husband. Thanks so much to both of you for your friendship and for letting Jake and I be a part of such a fun night!
